High Drainage No Wastage Solution
MARCH 2005

When Danish sauce manufacturer Bahncke asked Rapak to develop bags for an apple-flavoured ketchup that would give maximum yield with minimum wastage, the solution incorporated two features:

  • a ‘double delta-seal' to channel product into the gland opening

  • hanging bag technology to ensure a downward, gravity feed

This innovative bag-in-box solution ensures optimum drainage of the product. The 5L and 10L bags were made using metalised polyester outer layers with polyethylene inner films giving excellent barrier protection for a long ambient shelf life.

The Bahncke application reflects the increasing trend towards self serving, clean and hygienic dispensers for sauces, ketchups and mayonnaise.

The success of this project also serves to highlight the value of Rapak's new agency agreement with APS Soldana in Denmark.
